About Sherbrooke Community School

Sherbrooke Community School is a small, government-funded P-12 school nestled in the scenic township of Sassafras, in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges, south-east of Melbourne. Established in 1985, our school is set back from the main road, offering students a peaceful and natural environment to learn and grow.

With a capped enrolment of just 160 students, we foster a close-knit, supportive community where each student is known and valued. Our students are grouped into teaching teams: P-6, Years 7-10, and VCE/VCAL (Years 11-12), ensuring a tailored approach to education at every stage of learning. The curriculum is based on the Victorian Curriculum, and we offer pathways in VCE, VET, and VM, providing students with the flexibility to follow their individual academic and career goals.

Our school’s vision is to nurture growth to inspire independent learners to achieve their potential. We strive to create a learning environment that fosters respect, builds positive relationships, and instills responsibility in our students.
