Life’s ups and downs happen to all of us, so chances are someone you know might be struggling. The earlier we genuinely and sincerely ask, ‘are you OK?’, the greater chance we have to help someone before they are in crisis.
What will this look like on the day?
- Students and staff are encouraged to wear something yellow.
- Workshops will be held with each year level and will consist of resources and activities developed by national charity R U OK?, that provide simple tips to help you know when to ask, ‘are you OK?’ and what to say if someone says they’re not OK.
- To finish the workshops, students have the opportunity to participate in some slime making fun. Slime is a great grounding resource, which in this instance is intended to assist students to emotionally regulate after what can be a heavy topic.
- Staff and students are welcome to bring to school something that they believe is a conversation starter. This could be a photo of something you find interesting, something crafty you’ve created, a news article or book that captured your attention and interest, something quirky you like to wear such as themed earrings, a band t-shirt or shoes. Think: something that will spark conversation with others.
Please don’t hesitate to contact the school if you have any questions or concerns on (03) 9755 2007.
Thank you so much for your support, I can’t wait to spend the day with you all!
